It’s the 1st January 2016, the beginning of a new year, and for me a time for reflection. We wish each other a happy new year, but what does happiness actually mean to each of us? Different things for different people I guess, though, common to most people would be a healthy body.
As I woke up this morning, next to my man full of cold, I was reminded that it is our thoughts that affect our mood (emotions) and our emotions that affect our bodies. This does not imply that you are to blame for your poorly body, it implies that you have the power to do something about it! You might not be able to heal your body instantly, but you do have the opportunity to choose which thoughts, that pass through your mind, you are going to dwell on.
I’m sure you will have noticed by now that if you are thinking positive, happy, loving thoughts you feel uplifted and your body feels good and light. If you haven’t experienced this yet then give it a try and see for yourself. Every time you find yourself dwelling on a negative thought, which I assure you will not feel very comfortable, let it go and choose for a more uplifting thought. With a bit of practice you will notice immediately when your thinking is negative, because of the discomfort in your body.
You actually have more control of your experience of life than you think. Your inner experience (your emotions, feelings and thoughts) have a huge influence on how you experience everything around you, including your body.
So for a truly happy and healthy 2016 get into the habit now, of choosing for only the thoughts that uplift you.
